Event Details

Grab a paddle, hop in a kayak, and help us clean up the Chicago River with our friends at Chicago Adventure Therapy!

Chicago Adventure Therapy will provide all the boats and paddling equipment, as well as paddling clothing and shoes you can borrow for the day if you’d like. Please read below for details on how to sign-up.

Participants also are entered into a chance to win some Patagonia gear!

Do I have to RSVP/Sign-up?

Yes! Because of the nature of the event, slots are limited. Chicago Adventure Therapy can support up to 15 people safely for the day. (That said, the dock and river are open to the public all day so if you have your own Kayak and want to contribute, we won't stop you!)

To support this and future programs, Chicago Adventure Therapy is asking for a $20 suggested donation for use of their equipment and instructors. See below for details.

How to I sign up?

Hit the button above that says, "Add To Waitlist". Once you've submitted that form, you'll receive an email with further instructions on how to donate and submit your proof.

Once we receive your confirmation, you'll be moved from the Waitlist to the Attending list!

Chicago Adventure Therapy

Since 2006, Chicago Adventure Therapy (CAT) has used outdoor adventure to support wellness and healing in Chicago’s underserved communities. What began as a clinical adventure therapy model evolved in 2019 to include a trauma-informed, community-based approach centered on social and emotional learning. Today, CAT empowers Black, brown, and marginalized youth through outdoor recreation, fostering healing, belonging, and collective growth.

Urban Rivers

Transforming urban waterways into wildlife sanctuaries, we create floating gardens filled with native wetland plants that restore habitat for fish, birds, and turtles along heavily engineered riverways. By pairing these spaces with floating boardwalks, we create meaningful opportunities for people of all backgrounds to connect with nature in the heart of the city.
